Although the word “boiler” is known by everyone, its exact purpose is not widely understood. In this article, we will explain what the term “boiler” means.

What is a Boiler?

Boilers are mechanical plumbing components used to store water from different heat sources when there is a need for storage (single coil boilers, double coil boilers, electric boilers).

What is the Purpose of a Boiler?

Examples of heat sources include solar collectors, steam boilers, heat pumps, hot water boilers, or electric boilers. At Artı Kazan, we will provide you with all the information about boilers.

What are the Types of Boilers?

Boilers can be divided into various groups. In this sense, it is possible to classify boilers into two main groups:

These two types of boilers have their own subgroups, which differ in terms of their usage purposes and operation. In the rest of our article, we will explain our boiler systems to you.

Single Coil

Single coil boilers are boiler systems that operate by obtaining energy from a single heat source. They provide both hygienic and economical hot water usage with the energy obtained from a single heat source. Enamel-coated single coil boiler systems can be connected to steam boilers, hot water boilers, or solar collector devices. Enamel boilers are made of metal coated with enamel, a substance resembling glass, and are frequently used in such boiler systems.

Double Coil

The operating principle of double coil boilers differs from other boilers. In this sense, double coil boilers are connected to a boiler or solar collector. Heating is first done in the solar energy collector. If the temperature does not reach the desired level, the boiler circuit automatically activates and adjusts the temperature towards the desired level.

The question of how much volume boilers can be produced is also a common curiosity. In this regard, boilers can be produced in volumes ranging from 100 to 10,000 liters. This actually shows that boilers can have a significant volume. While boilers for household use are generally low-capacity boilers, high-capacity boilers can be preferred for industrial use.

When purchasing a boiler, it is important to pay attention to the size of the boiler and the materials used in their construction, as they may vary. Knowing the specifications of the boiler and making a purchase accordingly is of great importance. Additionally, boiler prices can vary depending on the coil situation.

Double-walled boilers are a type of boiler also known as jacketed boilers in some cases. Double-walled boilers take up nearly three times more space and are not recommended for use after a static pressure value of 25 mSS. High heat loss is also among the factors to be considered. The galvanization quality between the two walls may not be safe.

In contrast, coil boilers are pressure-resistant boiler systems. By increasing the heating surface area, the heating time of water can be shortened, heat loss is reduced, the galvanization quality is good, and their lifespan is longer. However, using boilers in a vertical position is not highly recommended in boiler rooms with low heights. If heating is done with hot water or steam, it is strongly recommended to use vertical coil boilers.

Electric Boilers

Electric boilers are a type of boiler that operates using electric energy in spaces where there is no hot heat source. The heat sources that can be used are as follows:

If these heat sources are not available, the use of a boiler becomes important. In other words, a boiler refers to pressurized tanks that heat and store water with the coil inside, which act as water heaters. With the increasing prevalence of central heating systems in buildings, the demand for domestic hot water supply from these centers has also increased Boilers are used to meet this demand by providing an easy, economical, and effective way to produce and store hot water. Over time, they have been made highly efficient and reliable by leveraging advanced technology.

Copper Coil

Boilers with copper coils have an innovative and aesthetic design. When combined with copper pipe coils, they achieve higher efficiency. They are produced in compliance with internationally recognized CE standards. The most significant feature of these standard boiler systems is that the coil can be disassembled and replaced.

The advantage of having a copper coil is that it produces hot water in shorter periods compared to other types of coils. The inner surfaces of boilers are coated with enamel, which meets international standards, providing corrosion resistance, 100% hygiene, and an enamel-like coating. Single coil copper boilers and double coil copper boilers can be used in hotels, villas, buildings, factories, and any type of structure requiring hot water.

Horizontal Type

Horizontal type single coil boilers are boilers that can be fueled by only one heat source such as steam boilers, central heating boilers, solar energy, or similar heat sources. They can be coated with epoxy or galvanized material.

Where are Boilers Used?

Boilers can be used wherever hot water is needed. Below are some of the most common places where boilers are used:

and any place that requires hot water.
